Kunstadt Sports is a family owned and operated sporting goods retailer that specializes in Alpine ski, Nordic ski, Snowboard, Cycling, Tennis equipment and all of the related apparel and accessories from top quality brands.

We have four locations across the Ottawa/Gatineau region and an offsite warehouse. In addition to our retail locations we have seen incredible growth with our e-commerce sales throughout the past 15 years.

Customer Support Manager

At Kunstadt Sports, The customer experience is paramount. 

We are looking for someone to manage providing support and feedback to our customers. This involves communicating with our amazing customers on a daily basis. Common questions, complaints, feedback and spreading the news of our events and promotions, are just some of the types of communication you will be in charge of.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum grade 12 graduation and ideally supplemented with office / customer care / business administration courses, certificate or diploma
  • Minimum 2 years’ recent related experience providing customer or community relations services and administrative support
  • Superior organization, multi-tasking, time management and communications skills
  • Attention to detail when communicating both orally and in writing
  • Sound judgement, problem-solving, and trouble-shooting skills
  • Strong initiative and anticipation skills
  • English language spoken/written
  • French language spoken/written (not required)

 

Possible tasks involved with position:

  • Create and maintain relationships with prospective customers
  • Listen and respond to customers’ needs and concerns, referring customers to others for additional assistance as required
  • Record details of customer contacts and actions taken, researching answers or solutions as needed
  • Provide support to sales staff by responding quickly and efficiently to requests and concerns
  • Collaborating with managers to surface and resolve problems that affect service, efficiency, and productivity.
  • creating and maintaining a strong and positive customer culture;
  • managing support systems and problem solving
  • Experience in live chat support, providing patient, friendly & professional customer service
  • Customer complaint handling (receive, review and follow up on customer issues, concerns, feedback and inquiries).
  • Assists with order entry, communicates with shipping and procurement in order to ensure orders are on time and any delays are communicated with the customer.
  • Works with the Operations team to ensure that customer requirements will be fulfilled in required time frame

  • Creates Customer Service Protocols/SOP and implements new procedures
  • Develop and manage systems to gather quality data that lead to actionable changes at the customer level for customer service, sales and operational teams.
  • Directs and oversees all aspects of the organization’s customer service policies, objectives and initiatives.

Team Leader/ Management Position (all locations)

The ideal candidate for this position will succeed in this role if they have previous experience managing a retail sporting goods store. As part of the Management Team you will ensure our customers receive exceptional service. You will be a strong leader that inspires your staff to develop and improve.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a sales leader, coach and mentor. 
  • Clear communication and leadership that inspires and motivates staff.
  • Manage daily store operational tasks including merchandising, restocking, online order tracking, inventory control and store cleanliness. 
  • Assist in product knowledge and sales training with all staff.
  • Ensure customer service issues come to professional resolution.
  • Perform all other duties as needed

Skill Requirements:

  • Minimum 18 months experience in sports retail management

Full Time Sales Associate (all locations)

We are looking for passionate and sales oriented staff to work full time at all locations.  The love of all outdoor winter activities is required!  

Job type: Full time/Part time

Responsibilities:

  • Engaging customers with enthusiasm, product knowledge and first hand experiences while driving sales.
  • Assist customers in choosing the correct product while correctly sizing and fitting proper equipment to meet the customer’s needs. 
  • Provide outstanding customer service 
  • General tasks of handling point of sale transactions, answering phones and signing in service repairs. 
  • Merchandising, restocking and cleaning of store areas.

 

Skill Requirements: 

  • Previous experience in a sports retail environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision but also to work as a team
  • Multitasking

Service Shop Technician (all locations)

As a service shop technician at Kunstadt Sports you are a crucial part of our team. This position requires you to repair, problem solve and assist our customers (and sometimes sales staff!) with their equipment related issues! This is a fun and challenging position that allows you to share your love of skis or bikes with customers and co-workers in a real shop environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • To work in a fast paced and fun environment in our service shop
  • Ski, snowboard, Nordic servicing (wax, base repairs, edge sharpening, binding mount/adjustment)
  • Provide excellent customer service experiences and quality service repairs
  • Responsible for properly taking in all service work including correctly filling out service work orders, scheduling an appropriate amount of repairs and completing those repairs in a timely manner.
  • Advises and assists customers with their product selection without bias.
  • Communicates with store manager regarding repair and warranty part needs.
  • Maintains a clean and safe workplace.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the store manager.

Skill Requirements:

  • Previous ski mechanic experience and ski knowledge is a must.
  • Ability to be autonomous, prioritize workday, multitask and be detail-oriented.
  • Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work both independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions and take direction well.
  • Ability to create an excellent customer and team experience.
  • Good time management skills.
  • A sense of urgency and ability to hustle.
  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
