Louis Garneau designed its new Signature Optimum Shorts for the rider who's starting to take his cycling a little more seriously -- spending longer amounts of time in the saddle and venturing out for rides beyond the neighborhood. They're designed to provide the necessary comfort and support features found in quality cycling shorts, only at a price-point that's still manageable.
The shorts are constructed with nine panels of Louis Garneau's Signature Optimum fabric. This material's flexible, yet supportive stretch knit is composed of a nylon/spandex blend. Essentially, the highly elastic properties of the fabric wrap your muscles in place, providing you with good support that, in turn, leads to a little less fatigue. The fabric is also lightweight and super breathable, which helps transfer moisture off of your skin, keeping you comfortable and dry.
The nine anatomically-shaped fabric panels are joined with flatlock seams, eliminating irritation and reducing chafing throughout the construction. To secure the fit, Louis Garneau incorporated an elasticized drawstring into the waist of the shorts up top. Furthering this idea, compressive Powerband leg cuffs keep the leg panels firmly in place without restricting circulation. And for safety, Garneau has also placed back and bottom reflective accents to increase your visibility to motorists in low-light conditions.
For further comfort, Louis Garneau incorporated its Silvercool3 chamois into the Optimum shorts. This two-way stretch insert conforms to your body and is composed of multi-thickness, high-density foam for a precisely targeted support. The antibacterial Coolmax top sheet wraps the chamois, so you stay cool and fresh for the long haul.
