Turns out it was just the all new Armada Squonk Snowboard. Part resort ripper, part freestyle creature, the Squonk doesn't fit neatly into any category — and that's exactly the point. The tapered directional shape is designed to be ridden shorter, delivering speedy edge-to-edge response, effortless maneuverability, and enough freestyle spirit to turn every roller, bank, and side hit into an invitation. Whether conditions are all-time or just plain average, it's the board you'll reach for when the goal is simple: have more fun than everyone else.
- Traditional Camber with Early Rise Nose and Tail: A hybrid shape that pairs traditional camber underfoot with early rise rocker in the nose and tail.
- Flex Meter: 5 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff)
- Tapered Directional: This shape has a nose that is slightly wider than the tail. This design shifts more volume and float to the front, providing a more surfy and dynamic ride.
- Pop-Lownia Bamboo Core: Lightweight, snappy core for all-mountain freestyle riding.
- Freestyle Carbon Stringers: Add explosive "pop" and enhance durability
- Composite Impact Plates: Reinforced pads built directly into the board to provide an extra dampening layer to reduce vibrations and chatter without sacrificing board feel.
- Biax Glass: Softer than other layups, Biax Glass enhances the boards playfulness.
- Sintered Base: Highly durable, porous base that absorbs wax and provides maximum speed.

I'd toppled over this morning and, well into my ride, realized I'd knocked my front brake cable out of its housing. I brought it into the Bank and Heron location and met Eric. He mended the brake, then went on to clean my very dirty chain, adjusted my rear brake and gear mechanisms and sold me some chain cleaning fluid - all in good humour and in short order. I flew home on my now very happy bicycle. THANKS, ERIC!
