The Octave is a mid-flexing all-mountain boot designed for comfort and performance. The Zonal BOA® Fit System allows you to tighten the upper and lower sections of the boot independently. The Octave utilizes RIDE’s Sequence Lacing. Tongue Tied™ Hybrid Harness internal lacing system makes this boot truly best in class, keeping our heel snug and locked into the pocket. The Tongue Tied™ Hybrid Harness is operated by the inner lacing system and combines and internal upper harness with RIDE’s Tongue Tied™ system routing the internal laces through the corners of the external tongue of the boot.
Let’s break this down- When you pull the liner lace, it’s actually going to pull the top of the boot tight while securing the tongue of the boot over your foot and pushing your heel into the heel pocket. All these features make the Octave the best fitting snowboard boot on the market. Zonal dials to perfect the outer fit and an internal system that assures no heel lift. The Intuition™ fully heat moldable liner assures a custom fit for every foot. Featuring a velcro top closure, center tongue liner, dual Jbar ankle pockets, and RIDE’s Impacto Primo insole all come together to assure a perfect fit. The Flexlite 2.0 outsole will keep you from slipping on even the iciest conditions. RIDE’s +Slime midsole will absorb vibrations for all day comfort. I'd toppled over this morning and, well into my ride, realized I'd knocked my front brake cable out of its housing. I brought it into the Bank and Heron location and met Eric. He mended the brake, then went on to clean my very dirty chain, adjusted my rear brake and gear mechanisms and sold me some chain cleaning fluid - all in good humour and in short order.
