Our bamboo pole is a Swedish-made, light and strong bamboo pole that is suitable for both freeriding and hunting.
We at Tegsnässkidan are very happy to present our new collaboration with Borgastaven, which will now become Tegsnässtaven.
The rod is developed and manufactured in Borgafjäll with sustainability in the first place. The pole is light, reliable and based on genuine craftsmanship, just like the Tegsnäs ski.
The rod is made entirely of bamboo, the handle consists of 50% recycled rubber, 50% cork and the hand loop of Swedish reindeer skin. The handle is manufactured in Sala.
Bamboo is an outstanding natural material with the same breaking strength as steel and can withstand higher pressure than concrete. Bamboo ski poles provide the perfect balance between stability and flexibility. This means that they do not bend like regular aluminum rods or snap straight off like a carbon fiber rod.
A bamboo stick never breaks across, but instead along the fibers. Should that happen, there is the possibility - if you have tape with you - to stabilize the pole again so you can easily get home.
Size guide
The rod is available in four different lengths:
- 135 cm = fits approx. 150-160 cm tall people.
- 140 cm = fits 160-170 cm tall people.
- 145 cm = fits 170-180 cm tall people.
- 150 cm = fits 180-190 cm tall people.
- 155 cm=fits 185-195 cm Tall people.
We recommend that the pole goes to the armpit in deep snow skiing.
Why bamboo sticks?
Well, because bamboo poles are durable in a double sense! Bamboo provides the perfect balance between stability and flexibility and they don't bend like regular aluminum rods or snap like carbon fiber rods.
Above all, bamboo is environmentally friendly and climate-smart because the rod material only needs sun, soil and rain to manufacture itself. And while doing so, bamboo sequesters carbon dioxide more efficiently than almost anything else on the planet.

I like how I won’t have to tie my boots anymore and it’s just twist and go. Everything looks good and feels good the only thing I would suggest would be that if you want more comfortable boots then maybe go for something different if your just using them for shorter runs, then this is as good as it gets
I'd toppled over this morning and, well into my ride, realized I'd knocked my front brake cable out of its housing. I brought it into the Bank and Heron location and met Eric. He mended the brake, then went on to clean my very dirty chain, adjusted my rear brake and gear mechanisms and sold me some chain cleaning fluid - all in good humour and in short order. Good retention, transmission and responsiveness on a number of different snow conditions. Still a little difficult to get out of at the end of the day but does not freeze up with changing temperatures and wet 'powder' conditions.
