New for Armada is the Armada AR One AF 130 MV Alpine Touring Ski Boots, a more uphill-oriented freeride boot using the proven Free/Lock 4.5 system developed by Atomic (who happens to make the boot). That's where the similarity to the Hawx Prime ends, though, with a revolutionary Hybrid Cabrio Construction (shorter tongue and overlap, single buckle cuff) that blurs the line between progressive and linear flex. A unique Slingshot Buckle drives your foot into the heel pocket without squashing your intermediate cuneiform like conventional instep buckle tends to do. Burly Polyurethane construction at cuff and shell provide the guts you need to send it without reserve, and the boot employs the Atomic Memory Fit technology for a perfect fit.
- Last: 100mm: A medium last for most average to slightly wider feet
- Memory Fit: Advanced heat-fitting technology creates a fully personalized shell, cuff and liner in minutes. The key is Memolink, Atomic's special additive that improves the moldability and stretch of their plastics. Expansion can be up to 6mm forefoot width and up to 10mm ankle width, resulting in a permanent and complete anatomical fit in minutes. See your bootfitter for details.

I’ve only skied on them twice, last Friday under very hard groomed conditions and then this Monday under progressively softening conditions, the skis performed very well both days !

I'd toppled over this morning and, well into my ride, realized I'd knocked my front brake cable out of its housing. I brought it into the Bank and Heron location and met Eric. He mended the brake, then went on to clean my very dirty chain, adjusted my rear brake and gear mechanisms and sold me some chain cleaning fluid - all in good humour and in short order. I flew home on my now very happy bicycle. THANKS, ERIC!
