Your height and weight are both important factors when selecting the correct nordic ski for you. To find the best ski you should begin by determining the height of the ski you should be skiing on. With this information, you will have multiple skis to choose from. Using the chart below, you should choose the ski that best suits your weight at the correct height.
Ideal Height
Classic Skis: The ideal classic ski will be 10-30 cm above the skier's height.
Skate Skis: An ideal skate ski can range from equivalent height to the skier to 15 cm taller.
Why you may want a ski on the short side for your height:
- You are a newer, less experienced skier
- You want to be able to easily maneuver your skis and turn quickly
Why you might want a ski to be on the long side for your height:
- You are a more advanced skier

Junior Skis
Many of the same rules apply to junior skis as they do adult skis. The main difference when sizing junior skis is that they are going to be shorter than adult skis, when compared to the skier.

The Speedmax 100 Classic Jr is the lightning-fast classic ski for the winners of tomorrow. With RACE CODE technologies from the World Cup adapted to the needs of junior racers, this ski provides the next generation with a real race feeling. Thanks to the Air Core HM Carbon core and Cold Base Bonding, the Speedmax 100 Classic Jr ensures maximum speed through improved wax absorption and grindability of the base. For protection, a thin layer of wax is applied to the base which must be removed and brushed off before the first use. Comes in a set with the Race Jr Classic TURNAMIC® binding.

I’ve only skied on them twice, last Friday under very hard groomed conditions and then this Monday under progressively softening conditions, the skis performed very well both days !

He mended the brake, then went on to clean my very dirty chain, adjusted my rear brake and gear mechanisms and sold me some chain cleaning fluid - all in good humour and in short order.
