Genuine valley-burnt tar from Västerbotten. Produced from centuries-old pine stumps according to an old method in Tjärdal. Excellent impregnation agent for wood and ideal for ski foundations.

We recommend this valley-burnt tar for all our Tegsnäs skis with birch soles.
Note that Tegsnäs skis with bankiraywood, "red sole" should never be tarred. These skis must be oiled. Read more under the care advice tab.
By regularly taking care of your Tegsnäs skis, you extend their lifespan significantly and they can last for generations. By tarring the birch skis or oiling the skis with bankiraywood (the red soles), you achieve a very durable and good result that also gives a much better ride.

I started skiing last year and jumped into these this season by recommendation from Kundstadt. He mended the brake, then went on to clean my very dirty chain, adjusted my rear brake and gear mechanisms and sold me some chain cleaning fluid - all in good humour and in short order. Most precise high performance boot I have ever skied. For a plug boot it is surprisingly comfortable. Body movements are transferred to the skis with precision and quickness.
This is probably the most comfortable ski boot that I have ever tried on! The design is superb!! I wish that I had tried the Fischer boot long ago. Better late than never!!
However, I need to try one size smaller to clarify that this is the boot that I can keep.
Good retention, transmission and responsiveness on a number of different snow conditions. Still a little difficult to get out of at the end of the day but does not freeze up with changing temperatures and wet 'powder' conditions.
